Falling COVID numbers has led to an easing of visitor policy restrictions at Livingston Regional Hospital.
Director of Growth and Outreach David Cox said that patients will be allowed one healthy visitor per day. Including one companion for outpatient appointments and one support person for pregnancy patients.
Cox said visitation is being limited from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM so the hospitalist can help with family questions.
“We want to make it easier for our patients to be able to see their loved ones,” Cox said. “Also to be able to continue care whenever they’re returning home and having the family member be able to speak to the physician is going to make that a better transition.”
Cox said all visitors must be 18 years of age or older and will be screened upon entry. He said visitors staying safe in the community helps keep visitation less restrictive.
“Try to make sure that you stay healthy,” Cox said. “Make sure that you are staying safe in the communities by wearing a mask, socially distancing and hand hygiene.”
He said visitors that do not pass the screening will be asked to reschedule their visit until they are free of COVID symptoms. Cox said Livingston Regional Hospital is asking visitors to bring their own masks to help with PPE supply.
