The Livingston Regional Hospital is allowing visitors inside with limitations.
Marketing Director David Cox said to decrease cross contamination, they implemented a “one one one” visitation plan.
“For every patient that we have in the hospital they’re allowed one visitor for one day,” Cox said. “Every day is a new day, obviously, so if you have one visitor come in that day and see you for one hour, that was your one visitor for the day.”
Cox said visitors are required to visit a screener to check their temperature and answer a health questionnaire. He said the screener is staffed to provide a personal experience. Additionally, employees use an electronic temp check station to quicken their check-in process.
Elective surgeries, orthopedics, and non-elective surgeries have returned to the hospital in the past month. Before patients can enter the surgery room, they must be tested for COVID-19.
“If you do feel like you have emergent need, please don’t put that off, please come in,” Cox said. “Our hospital is safer than ever because of the standards that we’ve put in place to help with our community.”
A section of the hospital is isolated where COVID-19 positive patients are kept and cared for. Cox said they are not overwhelmed with infected patients.
