Livingston, Cookeville Adjusts Christmas Parade Schedule For Weather

Livingston has moved up Saturday’s Christmas parade due to expected inclement weather.

The parade will now be Saturday at 12:00pm. Mayor Curtis Hayes said the new time has a much smaller chance of receiving rain according to the National Weather Service.

“If it rains, then normally it’s not a good turnout for the Christmas parade, either for the participants or for the general public that wants to enjoy,” Hayes said. “So we hope that folks can get out and see the parade. I know a lot of people put a lot of hard work into it.”

The Cookeville Putnam County Christmas Parade has been moved to Monday night at 6:30pm due to the rain threat. Lineup time begins at 4:30pm Monday night.

Hayes said the contents of the parade will not be affected by the adjustment. He said the goal is still to provide a dry parade for everybody to enjoy.

“Nothing’s changed but the time,” Hayes said.

The parade had been scheduled for 3pm.
