Legislative Session Likely To End This Week

The legislative session will likely come to an end this week.

State Representative Cameron Sexton said the session has moved at a good pace and should come to a close by Tuesday or Wednesday.

“I think everybody’s in a pretty good spot and we moved at a pretty good pace,” Sexton said. “I don’t think it’s been too fast or too slow, so I think that has helped with the process of making sure that everybody is not overtired, overburdened, or ready for it to end.”

If the session ends this week, it would be a little more than two weeks shorter than last year.

“It’s been a very difficult year, but a good year and we are doing some great things,” State Representative Ryan Williams said. “It is a lot of work and has taken me away from my family, but it’s worth the sacrifice. I’m very appreciative to the members of my district who send me here to serve their best interest.”
