Jamestown Approves New Fiscal Budget

The City of Jamestown approved a new fiscal year budget Monday.

City Recorder Gail Dishman said the some 14-million-dollar budget contains funding for the Jamestown Municipal Airport.

“The airport received an FAA grant, a 100 percent grant, that is why our budget looks so larger. It is 6.7 million,” Dishman said. “So really our working budget is right at 8 million for the overall.”

The Federal Aviation Administration awarded the airport with the grant in May.

Dishman said budget keeps the city without any deficits while paying for city projects.

“We will be paving part of Main Street,” Dishman said. “Each year they look at the budget and set aside so much to pave roads in different areas. This year it will be Main Street.”

The city council will meet again on August 12.
