Jackson County Utility District Working To Restore Water Monday

The Jackson County Utility District is aiming to have water restored to all customers on Monday.

Office Manager Crystal Bean said 850 customers are still without water due to Gainesboro’s water tank running dry. Bean said her crews are assisting Gainesboro to find lines that were underwater to get the tank refilled.

“As the day goes on, their tank is refilling as we speak,” Bean said. “So we’re hoping that those things will be corrected and water will be restored to all the customers throughout the day today.”

Bean said Gainesboro’s tank ran dry due to the flooding. She said crews have been working since Saturday to try and remedy the water lines.

“Their water tank did go dry because of all the main lines that were washed away in the flood,” Bean said. “They lost a lot of water. So we still have customers out of water due to that.”

Bean said water outages have been isolated to the Gainesboro district. However, she said Jackson County Utility District customers who receive water purchased from Gainesboro are still out.
