The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, fire departments and EMA are working together to perform welfare checks.
This is for all residents in areas that are still without power. Jackson County EMA Spokesperson Derek Woolbright said residents need to call (931) 268-0180 if they are concerned about someone and are unable to check themselves.
Woolbright said they encourage residents to please check on their friends, family and neighbors at this time. All three Jackson County shelters are open and staffed.
