Jackson Chamber Launches Chamber Wide Job Application Program

Jackson County Chamber is launching a new website to serve as a one-stop shop for job seekers in the community.

Director Hope Vargas said that she was inspired by the Clay County Chamber which has a similar program. She said she wanted to make it easier for people to apply for jobs.

“I felt that the least that I could do was provide a way to merge the gap between job seekers and employers,” Vargas said. “We’re really hoping that an application process like this can take away from those job application process obstacles because it is time-consuming.”

Vargas said that interested job seekers can log on to the chamber website, fill out their information, and submit an application to be matched with employers. She said that they have a variety of open positions across several industries such as manufacturing and hospitality.

Vargas said that if businesses are interested in taking part of this program, they must first become a Chamber of Commerce member.

“After that, simply just let me know what you’re looking for and as applications come in I can look over them, screen them, figure out what exactly what the applicant is looking for,” Vargas said. “And if they look like they might be an applicant that you might be interested in, I’ll just forward the application. Then you can of course decide if you want to move forward by contacting the applicant and beginning the interview process. It’s pretty easy.”

For any questions, Vargas said that those interested can contact her at the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce.
