Hilham Man Charged with Methamphetamine

Putnam County Officials have charged a Hilham man with drug charges after he broke into a residence Tuesday.

Authorities arrested 28-year-old Cody Adams for the possession of methamphetamine.

Officials made contact with Adams after receiving a call for a possible burglary on Dogwood Lane in Algood. Upon arrival, officials knocked on the door of the residence.

Adams answered the door. Adams told officers he rents the residence.

Authorities asked Adams why he broke in through the window. According to arrest warrants, Adams said he had lost the keys.

After an investigation, officers concluded that Adams was not a resident of the house.

Authorities handcuffed Adams after he refused to obey officers orders. Adams admitted to having methamphetamine, scales, and baggies on his person.

The methamphetamine weighed approximately 2 grams.

Authorities booked Adams into the Putnam County Jail on a $3,000 bond.
