Cookeville Police arrested the 27-year-old last year after a grand jury indicted him for child rape. The incident happened in April, 2016 when police investigated a sexual assault complaint against a juvenile victim.

Washington faced up to 25-years in prison for his original charge of child rape.

Cookeville Police investigated the incident with the help of the FBI, the Department of Childrens Services and the New York City Police Department.
