It’s almost time get your favorite Girl Scout Cookies.
The season kicks off Sunday showcasing fan favorites and one new flavor. Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee Communication Manager Sarah Elmore said the funds from the program help support local troops.
“Girls Scouts of Middle Tennessee are able to do amazing things for the community whether it is programs or supporting the community in other areas,” Elmore said. “Every troop also earns their own cookies proceeds and they can use those programs to attend summer camp.”
Elmore said the newest cookie called, “Adventurefuls,” is brownie-inspired with a caramel creme on top. Elmore said the fan favorites such as tagalongs or thin mints also return.
“We are so excited for the Girl Scout Cookie Program,” Elmore said. “We have been preparing since basically last years program. Our girls, staff and volunteers learn about business practices and sales pitches and dream up all the ways they can fund their adventures through the cookie program.”
Elmore said you have until March 6th to get your cookies. Booths will be set up outside retail locations and can be found at gsmidtn.org/find-cookies. There are 12 different cookies to purchase.
