Fuson Named New Director Of Leadership DeKalb

DeKalb County Chamber of Commerce has announced Leigh Fuson as the new director for Leadership DeKalb.

The program works to help citizens gain more knowledge and experience about the county itself by getting involved in government, business, and community events. Fuson said she wanted to take on the role to help facilitate the program and help it improve.

“I went through the program myself and gained a lot of value from it,” Fuson said. “And so I wanted to help spread that to others as well. They were in need of someone to help out, and I was willing to take on that role.”

Fuson said her short-term goal is to learn more about Leadership DeKalb and how it operates. She said plans to take the blueprint of how things were done in the past and her own experience as she takes the helm.

Fuson said after she has more experience under her belt, she hopes to implement new components into the program and help it grow.

“The previous directors have done a great job and pretty much everything that they have done I definitely want to continue that,” Fuson said. “And then after I get a year or two under my belt we’ll see about changing things up a bit. But right now it’s a great program and I just want to continue to help it be successful.”
