Four Injured In Three-Vehicle Collision Tuesday

Four were injured in a three-vehicle collision Tuesday night in Putnam County.

33-year-old Christopher Hussein of Lexington, Kentucky was traveling in the right-hand lane on Highway 111 near the intersection of I-40 when he rear-ended the vehicle of 55-year-old Khamla Rattanvong of Cookeville. The impact of the crash pushed Rattanvong’s car into the vehicle of 40-year-old Jason Skarzynski of Sparta.

Rattanvong was transported to Vanderbilt with suspected serious injuries. Skarzynski and his two passengers were transported to Cookeville Regional Medical Center with suspected minor injuries.

Hussein was cited for failure to exercise due care. Rattanvong was cited for failure to wear a seatbelt and failing to provide proof of financial responsibility. Skarzynski was cited for simple possession of a schedule VI controlled substance.
