Former Public Works Director Sentenced

Former Algood Public Works Director Victor Jones sentenced to 15 years in prison Thursday, after pleading guilty to three counts of rape of a child.

Jones appeared in Putnam County Criminal Court, and admitted that on three separate occasions at his home, he sexually penetrated a child who was less than 13 years of age. Victims came forward to authorities in the investigation. Victims spoke during Thursday’s court appearance.

Jones must serve 100 percent of his sentence. He will also be listed on the sexual offender registry.
