Former Cookeville Public Works Employee Arrested For Felony Theft

A former Cookeville Public Works employee has been arrested by the Cookeville Police Department for felony theft.

Alan Dwayne Allen was investigated after the city became aware of discrepancies regarding the purchase of vehicle parts in April. After reviewing the questionable invoices and confirming the discrepancies, the incident was reported to the Cookeville Police Department to investigate the potential criminal offense.

The investigation by Cookeville Police remains ongoing. Effective June 8, 2023, Allen’s employment with the City of Cookeville has been terminated.
