Another round of tornado warnings Wednesday night produced scattered damage, but the biggest concern remains flooding heading into the latter part of the evening.
A tornado warning issued for Dekalb, Smith and Putnam Counties around 6:45pm Wednesday night. Rotation concerns centered on Carthage.
Aarons Branch Road in Jackson County reported impassable due to flooding. Trees down along McCoinsville Road. In Overton County, East Netherland Road reported flooded. Structural damage reported at Carmack and Colonial Avenue in Carthage.
Rotation spotted on Buffalo Valley Road in Putnam County and near the Fentress/Overton/Putnam line outside Monterey, but no reports of tornado touch downs. Power flashes were also spotted on the Baxter emergency cameras.
Cannon County officials asking residents to stay off the road because of flash flooding.
More rough weather expected as the region approaches midnight. A tornado watch remains in effect until 3am. According to the weather service, storms through the next few hours will be scattered, but still very impactful. Significant flash flooding will continue.
