Fire Destroys Home In Nameless Community

A fire destroyed a home in Jackson County’s Nameless community Thursday morning.

Nameless Volunteer Fire Department Chief Josh Locke said crews responded to 1550 Shepardsville Highway at 12:35 a.m.

“When we arrived on scene the house was totally involved,” Locke said. “From what I gathered from the people who lived there, it started in the attic and fortunately they were all able to get out safely.”

Jackson County Central, Flynn’s Lick, and Granville Fire Departments responded to the scene. Locke said crews worked until 4:30 a.m. to put out the fire.

“I would like to thank all the other responding department’s,” Locke said. “Also, the people in the community that reached out to me about donating for this family. That’s what neighbors are for.”

Locke said the American Red Cross will provide assistance to the family and a donation center will be set up at the Nameless Community Center.
