Fall Creek Falls Reopens Pool After Extended Hiatus

The pool at Fall Creek Falls State Park has reopened after being closed for two-years.

Park Manager Jacob Young said the pool has a new water slide as well as new shade areas at the snack bar.

“It’s been a big hit,” Young said. “All of our local folks and visitors have missed it, and then our vendors that work down at the village area as well. We’re glad to see it open back up.”

Young said several additions have came to the park since the pool was last open. Young said you can take a look at the new lodge and restaurant while also enjoying a swim.

“It’s just a great time to come out and see the visitor’s center and the nature center,” Young said. “Many people have not made it out to see the new restaurant and lodge yet, so come out and enjoy that.”

Young said the pool also includes a new zip line and a new selection of tea beverages. Young said the pool is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

“Having the swimming pool open helps us, because it is a controlled environment and we’re able to keep people relatively safe in that area,” Young said. “Before when it was closed, all those folks wanting to swim were going to the George Hole and the Cascades which is great, but it can become overcrowded and dangerous. So, it’s a relief for us to see it open back up as well for those reasons.”
