Fairfield Glade’s Jeff Houston Named Tennessee Golf Professional Of The Year By PGA

Fairfield Glade’s Jeff Houston has been named the 2021 Tennessee Golf Professional of the Year by the state’s Professional Golfer’s Association.

Houston is the Director of Golf for Fairfield Glade. He said that he earned the title after winning the local nomination.

“It is a great honor and I’m truly blessed to be recognized with all the professionals in the state of Tennessee,” Houston said. “And to be the Professional of the Year is just a career achievement to be honest with you.”

Houston said that this award would not be possible without the entire staff of Fairfield Glade. He said that their efforts and commitment to providing the best service to the community has turned the honor into a group award.

Houston said that there are two important components to be the Golf Professional of the Year: the business aspect, and the customer aspect.

“The way that I do things is that we treat people the way that we would want to be treated” “And that goes a long way with your customer service, the way your golf courses are conditioned, what do you want to see when you come to the golf course, what do you not want to see, how your food and beverage operation runs. Nobody’s perfect, but we strive for that. We just try to put ourselves in our customers’ shoes and do the best that we can.”

Houston said he started at Fairfield Glade in 1991. He said golf was something he always really enjoyed and was decent at it, but didn’t know if it would be a career. He said he just knew that he wanted to play and work in the sport, which is how he ended up where he is today.
