The Cookeville Fire Department responded to a commercial fire at East 20th Street on Thursday.
Chief Daryl Blair said the call came in at 10:55 AM for a fire at ARRCO. Blair said a piece of equipment had caught fire inside the business.
“We were able to get in and get the fire contained and out and everything was just contained to that area where the machine was,” Blair said. “No structure damage that I’m aware of at this time.”
Blair said that the facility had been evacuated by the time crews arrived on scene. He said that despite there being heavy smoke from the fire, the business is still in operation.
