Emergency Repairs Taking Place On Interstate 40 Thursday

Emergency repairs will take place on Interstate 40 in Putnam County Thursday.

Tennessee Department of Transportation maintenance crews will be conducting the repair work at eastbound mile marker 294.7 between Cookeville and Monterey. TDOT officials said an area of the roadway washed out near the edge of the pavement and fast lane.

One lane will be temporarily closed to traffic during the repairs, which will take place between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Those traveling in the area are urged to be patient and alert to workers.
