The need for fresh food in Jamestown is being addressed on Wednesday with a drive-thru distribution.
Forbus Circuit United Methodist Pastor John Dietz said a U-Haul will be set up at noon at the Super Center in Jamestown across from Taco Bell. Dietz said 450 boxes will be available for families in need and all they have to do is call.
“Wow, there is a tremendous need,” Dietz said. “This past month we were able to get involved with another one and I think they had somewhere around 900 families come through in the Jamestown area.”
Dietz said to call either (931) 879-5410 or (931) 260-9628 but there will be 50 boxes set aside for anyone who cannot get a reservation. The boxes will include meat, dairy and other produce from local area farmers.
Dietz said that residents do not need to bring any proof of their income to be eligible for this opportunity. The Jamestown Super Center is the former car lot, located on North Main Street.
