Fentress County will move forward on its plan to build a new agricultural pavilion designed by Upland Design Group of Crossville.
County Executive Jimmy Johnson said the project has always had support from the county.
“This has been going on now for four or five months,” Johnson said. “I believe the commission has always been on board to do this, so now’s the time to start with the drawings from Mr. Allen Hill.”
The facility will include a livestock arena, auditorium, and space for the Fentress County U.T. Agents. It will also be a place for the county’s 4-H program to hold events.
The agreement between Fentress County and Upland Design Group anticipates construction beginning in the Summer of 2020 with completion in approximately 2021.
The pavilion will be built on 20-acres near the bypass in Jamestown. The Tennessee Department of Agriculture granted $150,000 dollars to help fund the project.
The Board of Commissioners approved the design during Monday’s meeting.
