The Renegade Bass Fishing Tournament will bring some 320 participants and as many as 180 boats to Dale Hollow Lake starting Monday.
Byrdstown-Pickett County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Billy Robbins said there will be road signs and businesses showing their support for the six days of fishing. Unfortunately, Robbins said those who are not participating might have to wait until boats come in, to see who has the biggest haul at Star Point Marina.
“Most of them will blast out from the dock itself and go out and disperse into the lake, the entire lake is usable, they can go from the dam all the way up to the head of the creek,” Robbins said. “So, as far as participants, being able to see them fish from their boats I doubt it very seriously, You will have first hand view of it when they come in and check in.”
Robbins said the launch times will be at daybreak and expects that to be about 6:30 AM on Thursday. Monday through Wednesday is reserved for pre-fishing.
“They’re gonna have their main gathering that Wednesday night starting at 4:00 PM,” Robbins said. “Where all the participants will come in, they’ll discuss the rules and we’ll have an opportunity to disseminate information to them at that point.”
Robbins said part of the information he hopes to give out are local maps and flyers. Robbins said he hopes to be able to connect participants with the local businesses who helped support and sponsor the tournament.
The Renegade Bass Fishing Tournament will run through Saturday.
