Cumberland River Hospital Owner Johnny Presley said he is in discussions with potential investors for the facility.
Presley said four parties are interested with repurposing the Celina property.
“We have entertained and shopping around talking to potential investors that may be interested in opening the facility,” Presley said. “As either a potential hospital, a free standing facility and even potentially using it as a nursing home.”
Presley said one investor is wanting to use the facility for other ventures, but he would like to keep the use medical for the community. Presley said the future operations of the clinic at the location would be dependent on new ownership.
“Dr. Horn and Acute Care Clinic will continue to operate a clinic in that community, but obviously that would be up to other potential owners that may take over at a later date,” Presley said.
Presley said the Clay County Chamber of Commerce also expressed interest in the facility for a non-profit group. But, Presley said a deal for this will likely not happen.
“We are just currently trying to find the best way to be able to dispose of this property that will allow me to retain as much as an investment as possible,” Presley said.
