Crossville-Cumberland County Continues Status As Valley Sustainable Silver Community

Crossville and Cumberland County will continue its status as a Valley Sustainable Silver Community.

Chamber of Commerce President Brad Allamong said the city and county just completed the designation renewal process and will keep it’s silver community status for the next three years.

“I would assume that if you didn’t have the designation of being a sustainable community at any of the levels then you would probably be kicked out of the system at that point,” Allamong said. “From an economic development standpoint, it emans having access to companies that are looking for sustainable communities.”

The program is administered by the TVA. The goal of the program is to document a community’s assets and increase the likelihood that they will be viewed as progressive and competitive by companies looking to invest in new or expanded locations.

“This program has taken Crossville-Cumberland County’s economic development marketing efforts to prospective and existing sustainably-focused companies to a whole new level,” Allamong said.  “We are excited to be designated at the Silver level for an additional three years.”
