A special called Crossville City Council meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday afternoon to discuss the resignation of City Manager Greg Wood.
The agenda states that Wood submitted a letter of resignation effective August 31st. According to the meeting notice, the council will review the resignation and the process of accepting applications for city manager.
Wood was suspended last week amid concerns of due process over the closure of the Village Inn. The motel on Burnett Street closed due to allegations of code infractions. It then reopened shortly after.
The city council also approved a third-party investigation of the motel closing in the same meeting of Wood’s suspension.
Wood signed a two-year extension in December of 2021. He has worked for Crossville for about five years.
