Crossville City Council Sees Mike Turner Take One Of Two Seats

Crossville City Council will see one new member after Tuesday’s election.

After all 25 precincts in Cumberland County have reported their unofficial results, Candidate Mike Turner was the top vote-getter for Crossville City Council. Turner defeated Incumbent Rob Harrison by about eight percent of the vote. Turner served as the fire chief for 28 years. He said after retiring last year, he realized his desire to continue serving the public.

“I’ll work hard I can tell you that,” Turner said. “I’ll use my common sense, listen to the people, and vote accordingly.”

Turner said as far his agenda goes, his first priority will be listening to constituents and hearing from them. He said of course, the city needs to have good roads, sewer, water and emergency departments. He said first and foremost, the city needs to be taken care of.

Turner will serve with Incumbent Art Gernt.

“I thank you Crossville,” Turner said. “I’ve got a heart for Crossville, I love it here. And I’ll work for you and thank you for vote and thank you for your confidence.”
