Crossville was announced Tuesday as the headquarters for technology startup Whisper Aero.
Whisper Aero focuses on developing the next generation of electric thrusters for drones, aircraft and electric vertical takeoff and landing. The company focuses on reducing noise pollution as the technology is applied to consumer markets and development of electric propulsion devices.
The new operations and headquarters are expected to create 47 jobs over the next five years at the Crossville headquarters.
The company recently completed two contracts with the US Air Force to develop and mature Whisper Aero’s exclusive hardware and software technologies. Whisper Aero’s electric fan technology can be applied to aerospace, industrial and consumer applications.
