CRMC will celebrate 100 years of hospital service in Cookeville and Putnam County in 2021.
September 15th marks the 100th anniversary of the creation of Howard Hospital. Chief Strategy Officer Ricky Shelton said the city purchased that facility in 1927 and became the Cookeville City Hospital.
“And then, Cookeville General Hospital right here at this location admitted its first patient December 21st 1950,” Shelton said. “We are going to take the time to celebrate that this year.”
Shelton said a marketing campaign to recognize the milestone will begin in the next thirty days and run until September 15th. Cookeville Regional’s 70th anniversary passed in December of last year.
“We’re going to partner with the foundation on that,” Shelton said. “There is going to be some exciting things happening and we are looking forward to that.”
