Four to eight months. That is the initial estimated rebuilding time of Crawdaddy’s, according to Owner Drew Blalock.
As a result of last week’s electrical fire, Blalock said the entire upstairs including the back office, patio and bar will need replacing.
“It is going to be a total gut job,” Blalock said. “Upstairs beyond the arches, there is so much smoke damage. It got so hot up there it melted a TV. It melted blinds. The upstairs is going to be a total rebuild along with some damage to the roof.”
Blalock said the downstairs area was mostly saved suffering only water and smoke damage. Blalock said one positive of the fire is the building receiving much needed upgrades.
“I think when we get to the point where we are ready to reopen, I think we are going to have the ability to have certain updates to the building and the interior that people are going to come in and receive a wow factor.”
The restaurant’s records and computer systems in the back office were also lost. Blalock said this is a huge hit for the business.
“Which is where all of our records and computers and POS systems and security systems and DVRs,” Blalock said. “A big loss there.”
