CPD Investigating Death After Man Found Near TTU

A 23-year-old man died at Cookeville Regional Medical Center Friday night after being found unresponsive  near Tennessee Tech.

Cookeville Police report officers responded to the scene and administered CPR until an ambulance arrived.

Tennessee Tech officials say they are aware of the incident and notes that the man was not a student at the university.

Authorities are awaiting an autopsy report to determine cause of death but foul-play is not expected. The man’s identity has not yet been released until family is notified.

The situation remains under investigation by CPD with more details to be released at a later time.
