COVID Vaccines Available In Many UC Counties

Counties in the Upper Cumberland are seeing more availability to COVID vaccines as efforts continue.

Jackson County Mayor Randy Heady said the County Health Department has appointments ready to be filled.

“I want anyone who wants to be vaccinated to have the opportunity to get vaccinated,”  Heady said. “One of the things that I saw is that we had a lot of people at one point that wanted the vaccine and couldn’t get in because of the restrictions and that seems to be doing a whole lot better, and I am really glad that is the case.”

Warren County Executive Jimmy Haley said his county is receiving a steady supply of vaccines. Appointments are available at the local health department, and other local sites.

“Some of the biggest roll out however has been through some of our private pharmacies whether than our health department,” Haley said. “Those doses have been coming in fairly steadily, as well.”

White County is having a similar experience. County Executive Denny Wayne Robinson said the county can now administer a vaccine the same day as registration.

“It’s really smoothed out, and things seem to be going along pretty good,” Robinson said. “Not only now is our health department doing it, but most of our pharmacies also have the vaccine. We are getting shots in arms just about as fast as people want them.”
