Young sportsmen must be accompanied by a non-hunting adult, 21 or older who must remain in position to take immediate control of the hunting device. The adult must also comply with the fluorescent orange regulations as specified for legal hunters. Multiple youth may be accompanied by a single qualifying adult.

This is a 1 mile walk of horror through the haunted woods of Bone Cave Mountain that includes 250 Mine Shaft, Clown Town, Meat Dept, Scarecrow Village, Graveyard, and Vortex Tunnel. This fundraiser will benefit the Cedar Grove Volunteer Fire Department. Admission is $8 per person and kids under 5 are free. Cash only please. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Announces The Availability Of Grant Dollars

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Announces The Availability Of Grant Dollars to assist cities, schools, community organizations, civic groups, watershed organizations, and conservation groups, etc., with riparian tree planting projects. All seedlings must be purchased through the Department of Agriculture, Division of Forestry. The funds will be obligated as grants, so the grantee must have a nonprofit tax number. The projects are to be completed, the money spent, and a report submitted by June 30, 2020. In order to meet this deadline, TWRA will accept proposals through Monday, Dec. 1, 2019. For additional information, interested persons may also contact a regional Aquatic Habitat Protection biologist.

Cookeville – Purple Palooza Trick-or-Treating And Tech Basketball Doubleheader Hosted By TTU will be on Tuesday, October 29th starting at 5pm at the Hooper Eblen Center. Bring out your best costumes as Tech teams, student groups and community sponsors hand out candy to all the little spooks and ghouls! Starting at 6pm the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team hosts the University of the Cumberlands in an exhibition contest. The Golden Eagle men’s team will take on Bryan College following at approximately 8 p.m. The event, including the basketball doubleheader, is free to the public.

Waverly – Beyond Becoming an Outdoors-Woman Muzzleloader Workshop Hosted By The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency will be held on Nov 8-10th at Buffalo Ridge Refuge. Female hunters 18 and older will have the opportunity to learn about hunting deer during the weekend. Registration for the workshop is on a first-come, first-serve basis. However, two weeks priority will be given to first-time participants. The cost of the workshop is $250, which includes meals and camping, if participants wish to camp. Campers must provide their own gear. A list of local hotels will be included with the registration packet. Workshop participants are required to have the appropriate licenses.
