Grand Opening August 21st

It was a landmark moment in American and Tennessee history – the ratification of the 19th Amendment on Aug. 18, 1920, giving women the right to vote.
Cookeville History Museum is marking that moment 100 years later with the opening of a new exhibit, “Suffrage Centennial 1920-2020,” on Friday. The exhibit will feature traveling displays from the Tennessee State Museum and National Archives. It will also include Putnam County’s own story.

Free Hunting Day is an event the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency annually provides in hopes of increasing interest in hunting. Squirrel hunting is one of Tennessee’s oldest and favorite traditions. The day serves as an excellent opportunity for persons to experience the enjoyment of the sport.

The Good Neighbors Theatre is accepting donations to keep their doors open!
Enjoy an evening with an event you do not have to attend, they are asking you, please contribute but be a no show!
Each year the Good Neighbors Theatre must raise over $15,000 plus, for that is the just the payment amount of our annual building loan! We really appreciate whatever that you can afford, ‘cause the Gala is how we raise the loan money, which is set in stone.
If you are still wondering just what amount you should send, whatever you choose, will help us have a place to put on a play.
