Cookeville To Bid For New Blue Cross Bowl Contract

Cookeville-Putnam County Visitors’ Bureau has submitted an intent to bid for the next Blue Cross Bowl contract with TSSAA.

That according to Executive Director Molly Brown. Cookeville’s past four year contract hosting the high school football championships has expired. In the past, Clarksville, Murfreesboro and Chattanooga have all competed for the bid.

According to TSSAA, site visits will begin in Janurary with bids due in February. A final decision on the two year contract is to be made in the spring. The Blue Cross Bowl has taken place at Tennessee Tech’s Tucker Stadium since 2009.

The tentative dates for the next championships are December 2-4, 2021 and December 1-3, 2022.
