Where to Retire Magazine has selected Cookeville as a top retirement destination.
Cookeville joins Gatlinburg and Knoxville as the only Tennessee destinations to make the sixth edition of “America’s 100 Best Places to Retire” guidebook.
Editors and staff spent eleven months researching more than 800 cities across the U.S. The final selection represents 35 states.
Each city profile combines extensive research, local knowledge and in-depth interviews with retirees who made the move.
“What an accolade to be acknowledged among not only the best in our state or region, but in the entire country,” Cookeville-Putnam County Visitors’ Bureau Vice President of Visitor Development Zach Ledbetter said. “We know our community has the desired amenities to attract quality retirees and are excited to see our continued marketing efforts are showing effective.”
Cookeville also made the cover and inside spread of Where to Retire’s November/December 2017 magazine edition.
The city recently received the 2019 Seal of Approval Award by the American Association of Retirement Communities.
