Cookeville road crews saw no major problems caused by Monday morning’s snow.
Public Works Director Greg Brown said all roadways were eventually cleared as the day continued.
“Snow started somewhere between seven or eight, so a little shortly after that we had a couple of salt trucks out and started to hit the bad spots,” Brown said. “It was kinda slushie and a few slick spots, but over the morning, it started melting. So, I think pretty much now all the roads are clear.”
Brown said slopes such as Sheperd Hill Road were the focus of the morning salt runs. Brown said salt was also laid around Cookeville Regional Hospital and multiple nursing homes.
Brown said the department prepares for anticipated snow by loading trucks the night before and acting when the winter weather arrives.
