Cookeville Locks In Prices On 2 New Trash Trucks

Cookeville committing to purchase two new sanitation trucks in the new fiscal year, trying to lock in the best prices now.

City Council agreed to purchase a new side-load truck and a new front-load truck at a total price of $808,000. Public Works Director Blake Mayo said they expect an August completion date on the side-load truck, which is currently being built.

“This commitment locks in our price,” Public Works Director Blake Mayo said.

Mayo said assembly has yet to begin on the front-load machine, but it is expected to be completed by December.
