Cookeville Leisure Services making gains on improvements to the old police department headquarters.
Director Rick Woods said the administrative offices have already fully moved in. He said the biggest impact is to CPAC users who utilize the rest of the building.
“We now have all of the levels of the building,” Woods said. “We’ve added 12 dressing rooms to CPAC, we storage space. It’s been a huge, huge, benefit to the performing arts center. It’s been very much appreciated by user groups”
Woods said the first group to utilize the expanded space was the Cookeville Children Theatre’s production of Beauty and the Beast in November. He said they were very please with the expanded space available for performers.
Woods said there are just a few remaining updates to the building on the restrooms and minor fixes.
“We have signage that we’ve not quite completed landscaping that we have planned that we have not yet done, so there are things like that,” Woods said. “But it’s functional for us at this point and we’re able to be here, and meet here and utilize this space effectively.”
