Cookeville Gets Clean Audit Report

The city of Cookeville has received a clean audit report.

Council members heard from Rich Lockwood of Blankenship CPA Group at a Monday afternoon work session. City Manager James Mills said that a clean audit is indicative of a good team.

“A lot of that has to do with having good employees, people who know what they’re doing,” Mills said. “Like Brenda Imel who is our current finance director and Amber Greenwood who is our current assistant finance director, and then all the people that work for them to count all the numbers and to make sure it all adds up correctly. We’re just really fortunate to have quality people to do that work.”

Mills said that the city expected a clean audit, and that he is pleased that its expectations were confirmed.

Lockwood said that of all the facets audited, they determined that there were no findings to be disclosed and no adjustments to be recommended.
