Cookeville’s water rehab project is complete on Willow Avenue.
Cookeville Water and Sewer Director Ronnie Kelly said the next step is getting Willow milled and paved. Kelly said he is pleased with how the project went and expects the work to have a long lifespan.
“What we did, you know, typically a lot of the pipes and so forth will have a 40 or 50 year life span on them,” Kelly said. “Just unless something breaks down.”
Kelly said city council still needs to approve the balance and change order. Kelly said the project was $3,262.50 over the approved total.
“We get all final measurements and check all quantities, and at the end it totaled more than we had approval for the contract amount,” Kelly said. “We ran over on some of the paving, patching out there was more than we had expected.”
Milling is the process of removing at least part of a paved areas surface.
