Cookeville CityScape Adds Two New Ornaments

Two Cookeville hot spots can be seen hanging from Christmas trees this year.

Cookeville CityScape is adding Dogwood Park and the historic Arcade Building to their line of holiday ornaments, bringing the total to eight different historic locations. Cookeville CityScape Executive Director Holly Freeman said Ralph’s Donuts and Cream City Ice Cream have been restocked, because community support and feedback is how ornament ideas come to life.

“We hear from people in the community, they recommend places they would like to see, we’ve got a running list of land marks and businesses that people would like to see our ornaments be transitioned into,” Freeman said. “We pull that list out every year, we add to it every year.”

Freeman said CityScape has been working with Beacon Design for 10 years to create these metal ornaments. She said all she provides is an image and Beacon Design does the rest on the design.

“They do a great job of just taking a picture or an image that I send them,” Freeman said. “Making them really come to life in these 3D metal ornaments.”

Freeman said the ornament orders have almost doubled every year and is grateful for Cookeville’s support of local business and non-profits. Freeman said this year is an important time to shop local when possible

“Shop local, support local this holiday season, they need it now more than ever,” Freeman said. “Please don’t forget your local non-profits who have really been operating on a very small budget this year, most of them doing the best they can to hold on this year.”

All eight ornaments are available from CityScape, however past styles like Spring Street and Pink Elephant are in short supply. Freeman said there are six locations selling the ornaments. Those include the Cookeville Depot, the Cookeville History Museum, Ralph’s Donuts, Cream City Ice Cream and more.
