Tennessee Tech University has selected a contractor to construct the new west side of Tucker Stadium.
Capital Projects Director Jim Cobb said work should begin as soon as the 2023 football season concludes meaning some changes for the 2024 slate.
“It’s not going to be a normal season from a facilities operation standpoint,” Cobb said. “We’re going to have to put some temporary measures in place to operate the video board and things of that nature and accommodate the press.”
Cobb said home games will still be played at Tucker Stadium in 2024. Cobb said the west end of the stadium will be demolished and replaced for the 2025 season. It will feature premium seating, suites and club level seats.
The original estimated price for the project late in 2021 was $30 million. Updated construction costs are unknown right now since it will depend on the contractors proposal.
