Contractor Seeking Extension On DeKalb/Warren TDOT Bridge Project

A DeKalb and Warren County TDOT paving and bridge project has surpassed its completion date.

Community Relations Officer Rae-Anne Bradley said the project was scheduled for completion last week. Bradley said the contractor has submitted a time impact analysis to extend the contract.

“The upcoming work on this project they’re just going to continue some grade work, paving and then some erosion control measures,” Bradley said. “There are multiple traffic shifts that are currently in place, and the contractor will implement several more to complete this final work.”

Bradley said traffic is being shifted to the new alignment on State Route 56. The project overall removed a portion of State Route 56, construction of the new bridge for Sink Creek Road and demolition of the existing bridge. Bradley said work has been ongoing since 2019.

“There are flaggers present, so just be aware of the new traffic patterns throughout as the contractor completes the project,” Bradley said.
