Community Foundation Non-Profit Grant Applications

The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee annual non-profit grant applications are now available.

Community Relations Director Pat Embry said Upper Cumberland non-profit organizations from animal shelters to school systems have until Oct. 16th to submit an application.

“These non-profits need our help more than ever,” Embry said. “There is nothing better then connecting somebody’s generosity with a need. Our grant making is probably the core of what we do.”

Embry said organizations with budgets below $50,000 or have been in operation for two years or less are not eligible. Grants will generally be limited $5,000, but some can reach up to $12,000.

“Go to www.cfmt.org. It will be the first thing that pops up,” Embry said. “I can not emphasize enough to follow directions. Our deadline for this is Friday October 16th, which is a much shorter grant application time period. It is 2020 and everything is out of sorts.”

Eligible counties are Bedford, Cannon, Cheatham, Clay, Coffee, Cumberland, Davidson, DeKalb, Dickson, Fentress, Franklin, Giles, Hickman, Houston, Humphreys, Jackson, Lawrence, Lewis, Lincoln, Macon, Marshall, Maury, Montgomery, Moore, Overton, Perry, Pickett, Putnam, Robertson, Rutherford, Smith, Stewart, Sumner, Trousdale, Van Buren, Warren, Wayne, White, Williamson and Wilson.

The Community Foundation awarded $2,397,870 in grants to 365 local nonprofit organizations as part of the 2019 annual grant-making process. Winners of the grant will be announced in December.
