UCDD/UCHRA Executive Committees will conduct performance evaluations of Executive Director Mark Farley and Finance Director Ginger Stout in the next thirty days.
Chair Randy Heady leading a three-person committee including Smith County Mayor Jeff Mason and Cumberland County Mayor Allen Foster. Heady said the reviews are conducted annually.
“Our job is to evaluate them, evaluate how they’re doing their job,” Heady said. “Maybe if we see some areas where improvement is needed or maybe encouragement is needed. Our job is to be honest with them.”
Heady said directors will be graded based on factors such as transparency, clarity in reports, growth in services and partnerships. Heady said he sees both the development district and human resource agency heading in the right direction.
“Just at the development district, resources have been increased,” Heady said. “In the last 10 years, there’s probably been 20 jobs added to the development district, which is a really good testament. That means that there is 20 new resources just added in our region.”
Heady said the committee also tasked with selecting a firm to audit the organization. Heady said he looks forward to the opportunity to explore.
“I think that is crucial,” Heady said. “That out of come from the Executive Board and not from inside the agency. Extremely important, and I don’t know who all we would look over to that. I know the last audit form we used I was really pleased with them.”
