An emergency cold weather shelter has been established for the homeless at the Cookeville Rescue Mission.
The shelter opened at 3pm Sunday and will continue operations until further notice. Cookeville Police will provide transportation to the facility for those within the city limits who do not have access to transportation.
The shelter is located at the Johnstone Building, purchased by the Shelter as an adjacent facility, on South Jefferson Avenue.
The Cookeville Community Cares Coalition activated the shelter.
