Clay County planning to acquire a new service truck for its sanitation department.
Solid Waste Committee Member Winton Young said the department needed a four-door truck for its day-to-day operations.
“We have had lots of trucks over the years and they’re all worn out and they’re smaller,” Young said. “Not everybody could fit every time having to sit in each other’s laps, so that’s the purpose of the four-door.”
Young said the department was able to find a truck locally instead of somewhere across the country. He said in doing so, it has saved the county both money and time to get the vehicle.
Young said crews will use the truck when they travel from site to site to clean up or perform other tasks.
