Clay Parks And Rec Accepting Director Applications

Clay County now accepting applications for the Parks and Recreation

Mayor Dale Reagan said that the county appoints the position every year in November.

“The park director’s duty is to oversee the day-to-day operations of the park itself,” Reagan said. “We have a couple of building out there that we rent out for events and stuff and they’re in charge to watch over that and to make sure that the maintenance and the maintaining of the facilities are kept up.”

Reagan said that those interested can apply at the Clay County Commission office. He said that the county park board will look over applications and do the interviews to pass along their recommendation.

Reagan said they plan on appointing the position at their November meeting. He said that what they’re really looking for is someone who loves and will be dedicated to Clay parks.

“And it’s not a position that’s full-time. It’s kind of full-time, but it’s more like a part-time position because it doesn’t require you to have to be there 24/7 but you do have to be there to oversee the operations of whatever activities are going on to make sure the park is being maintained.”
